“Worth Knowing” on tour – 2020 CPD tour dates

Angus Macinnis just took a DNA test, turns out he’s 100% that solicitor who keeps getting invited to speak at CPD seminars over the February/March CPD “high season”.  (He’s probably also 100% overusing that “just took a DNA test” meme, but it will do until something better comes along).  Here are Angus’ tour dates for 2020.

On the morning of 19 February 2020, he is speaking for the Law Society of New South Wales on “Important recent authorities for civil litigators” (which will probably be mostly about injunctions and freezing orders).  You can find more details, and book, here

On 27 February 2020, he is speaking as part of UNSW Edge’s “Business and Employment Law Intensive” on “The Australian Solicitors Conduct Rules for Employment Law and Business Law practitioners”. This is the session with the highest degree of difficulty on this tour, because Angus has to make the Australian Solicitors Conduct Rules sound interesting in the very last session of an all-day conference –  you can find more details, and book, here

On the afternoon of 20 March 2020, he is speaking for Legalwise on “The Ethics of Client Legal Privilege”.  You can find more details, and book, here

On the afternoon of 24 March 2020, he is speaking for Legalwise on “#TheEthicalLawyer: The Ethics of Social Media Use”.  You can find more details, and book, here

On the morning of 26 March 2020, he is speaking for The College of Law on “Work to rule (42) – the practice management implications of lawyers’ workplace misconduct”.  You can find more details, and book, here

Angus also provides in-house training for law firms who want a “get it done” solution for their solicitors’ CPD needs in relation to the compulsory “ethics and professional responsibility”, “practice management and business skills”, and “professional skills” points.  A firm (or other organisation) doesn’t need to have a lot of lawyers before it is more cost-effective for me to come and speak to you than to send all your lawyers to separate seminars (and firms can even invite their in-house counsel clients along, because they need CPD too). Doing CPD training in-house also makes your compliance easier, so if you would like to talk about what that might look like for your firm or organisation, contact Angus Macinnis
