Five things you need to know about the Australian Solicitors Conduct Rules (when you don’t need to know about the Australian Solicitors Conduct Rules)

If you are not a solicitor, you don’t need to know about the Australian Solicitors Conduct Rules (ASCR), yes?  Well, actually, no.  Those who are involved in the management of legal practices also need to take into account how professional conduct obligations of lawyers affect the business of law.  Equally, workplace conduct issues (in particular, workplace discrimination, bullying and harassment) can also have professional conduct implications extending beyond the workplace where the bad behaviour is occurring.

The Australasian Legal Practice Management Association (ALPMA) brings together a diverse range of professionals involved in the management of legal practices and this month, Angus has written an article for ALPMA’s blog in relation to some important practice management issues arising from the ASCR which need to be understood by practice management professionals.  You can read the article on ALPMA’s blog by clicking here
